ABOUT THE FIRM

In case it wasn’t obvious from the name, Sam Castree Law was founded by Sam Castree, III (pictured left). After exploring careers in theater and film, Sam eventually wound up in law school and was admitted to the Illinois bar in 2013. Since then, he has worked with a wide variety of clients in many sectors of the entertainment industry, with a special focus on small video game developers.

Over the years, he has also advised a number of non-entertainment businesses—from hair-care and clothing retailers to financial planners and insurance salesmen—on their business law and intellectual property matters.

Sam is also a frequent presenter on matters of intellectual property law and video game law, hosting panels at such events as MAGFest, Anime Central, Con Alt Delete, and the Midwest Game Developer Summit.
